DGC to groom Squash players

The re elected Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) squash section captain Akil Hirji has  said his second term will be dedicated to improve women and students participation in the sport.
Outlining his 2013 /2014 activities, Hirji said more efforts will be put on development of the game within and outside DGC .
He said he is working closely with members and management of the club to see that Squash is played by many people in the country.
Hirji said soon his club will send invitation letters to Schools within Dar es Salaam to send their students for squash lessons at the Club , saying he had already a greed with management of DGC so that students should not be paying entry fee at the club. 
“ This term we have a greed to dedicate our time to create women team , women tournaments and also  Junior teams for both boys and girls , conduct trainings for our members and also we will be organizing interclub tournaments ” he said .
The Captain said his first year of leadership at the club was dedicated to refurbishment of the DGC squash courts and also organizing tournaments at the facilities.
 He also maintained his plans to have a close working relationship with the National sports council (NSC)so that they are to develop the game in the country together.
“I will try to talk to National Sports Council to see how best we can do to develop the game to all parts of the country, I believe that is the only way we can develop the game in the country” he said.
The captain also discloses that their Zambian coach Nipa Bwaya  is expected in the country any day soon as all procedures for his employment are completed .
The 36 years old  Zambian trainer was in the country last year  for  10 days coaching trails and he  successfully met the satisfaction of both players and leadership of DGC squash section.
According to Hirji the trainer will be contracted for renewable six month.
